This hair styling school (above the Aveda storefront near Gallery Place) is a great spot for cuts from highly trained students earning their hours for graduation. Graduates of the school have gone on to work at Ted Gibson and other high-end area salons. You can get a haircut and style for as low as $18.
Several Citysearch fans love the U Street location of this affordable but trendy local chain. "I've been a million places in the last three years," says Citysearch fan Elyse M. "Heather is the first person who's gotten my color right and given me a cut that I like." Women's haircuts start at $42, and men's cuts start at $35.
Citysearch fan Adrienne G. goes to this Massachusetts Avenue salon for a quick trim. "Great service, and they actually do what I ASK them to do, which is surprisingly rare for some odd reason," she says. Get a shampoo, cut and blow-dry for $30.
