Tarara is our favorite place to spend an afternoon wine tasting! We also love to partake in their many other special events. We’ve been frequenting Tarara for 3 years now & they are a wonderful
winery. Often we bring out of town guests to Tarara to show them a true sampling of the Virginia landscape & wines. The pours are generous & in perfect glassware to get a true & accurate sampling experience. The staff is knowledgeable, courteousness, & they offer an enjoyable experience.
Our favorite is to taste some wines, then purchase some snacks, for which the selection has improved greatly!! We love to sit at a picnic table for a bit, then walk the grounds around the lovely lake & enjoy spectacular views! We also enjoy the summer concerts!

Owner Whitie Hubert grew up on a farm in Ohio where he spent his childhood growing grapes with his family. After 40 years in the construction business, he returned to his roots to open this 475-acre winery along the Potomac River with his wife Margaret. Tarara has been producing award-winning wines since opening in 1985, and continues to provide a complete winery experience. Sample some vino in the Tasting Room--tickets are between $10 to $20--including limited quantity and pre-release selections.
