Paul is the real deal!. My Name is Ginger, I read all the great reviews on citysearch, so I decided to give Paul Michael a shot, (wanted to see what all the hype was about ) my old hairdresser was just not giving me what I wanted. I was really blown away, Paul took my boring blonde highlights and added color, which he said would add some dimensions, he was so right, my color looked amazing, and the cut was just as great, so he is for real and I will be back.....

Can't judge a book by its cover. I moved to northern Virginia from Michigan two years ago, and I have been disappointed with all of the hair salons that I have tried thus far. I especially have not been pleased with any haircut experience that I have had. After my last episode of having one side of my hair about one inch shorter than the other side (the stylist tried to convince me that it was a great cut), I decided to search the internet for hair salons in Annandale, VA. After reading all of the positive reviews about how excellent Paul Michael is with cuts and color, I called him and asked him if he could see me right away. I explained that I was going away on vacation and that my haircut was awful. He told me that I come come in immediately and that he would work me into his schedule. What's so strange is that this is a salon that I dirve by every single day, and I didn't pay any attention to it because it really looks from the exterior that it is just your basic family hair care salon. I can honestly say, however, that I have never had a better haircut ... ever! Also, I am African American and have very wavy hair without a relaxer, and he was able to make the texture very silky and straight. We discussed how he would go about coloring my hair, and I am completely convinced that he will do a phenomenal job. Though I have been to other salons that perhaps had finer decor, I have never been more satisfied anywhere else than I was at Paul's. This just goes to illustrate that you cannot judge a book by its cover.

Best Kept Secret in DC Metro Area!. I've been traveling to New York to have my hair done because I couldn't find anyone in the area who could color my fine blonde hair the way I liked it. I tried many salons in DC and was always disappointed. Paul did a beautiful job with pale blonde highlights and gave me a wonderful cut. I am thrilled with the way my hair looks. In addition, everyone at the salon is courteous and very professional. Paul did not rush me and took the time to ask me questions and then highlight my entire head of hair. He is very good at his craft and understands what does, and does not, work on different types of hair. If you are unhappy with your hair, I highly recommend a trip to see Paul. You will not be disappointed!

In Paul I Trust!!. I took a chance and trusted the reviews on Citysearch & headed to Paul Michaels Hair Salon for highlights with Paul. This was a HUGE deal for me because I was afraid of the damage the bleach would do to my hair, but Paul used a gentle cream bleach & my hair feels as soft as ever. I showed Paul some pictures of what I had in mind & he gave me the most gorgeous honey colored highlights! I could not be more satisfied with this salon. Everyone was sweet & very serious about hair. I would recommend Paul to anyone looking for a colorist who is confident & a true artist. I'll be back!

Best Hairdresser in Va!!. The cut/color that Paul Michael gave me was by far the best I have had in Virginia. I have been to atleast 6 other salons in Virginai and dc and none of them compared to Paul. He took the time to ask me questions about what I wanted and did not rush the process at all. Paul was very professional from the time I entered the salon until the time I left. It is difficult to have faith in any hairdresser after you have had countless disappointments. But you can trust that Paul will do a great job on your hair.

Best Color (and Cut) I've Ever Had. I have red hair, more like a strawberry blonde (think Nicole Kidman, not Carrot-Top). I wanted highlights to brighten up my face because my hair had gotten dull - I had been coloring my own hair to cover gray, but didn't realize I was taking out the many lighter tones that made my hair pretty. I had gotten highlights once before in NJ, but they bleached my hair in big chunks, and using the word "stripey" to describe the look would be an understatement. To fix it, they bleached the rest of my hair, with the result that I had a lovely whitish-greenish hue... Anyway, after getting my hair back to red (took over a year) at a very expensive salon in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, I wanted the look of my natural highlights back. I did my homework this time and found Paul Michaels. Paul did a truly magnificent job with my hair. He put in the perfect color highlights, with the result that I have golden blonde hair, which is exactly what I wanted. Paul listens to what you want, rather than making assumptions like other salons. He also suggested an updated cut, which I gladly accepted, and now love. He is a gem of a sylist. He was very attentive and careful with my hair - so I was at ease the entire time. He cut and colored my hair the evening before I flew to South Africa, where I now live; and I WILL COME BACK to him for upkeep and maintenance (as I will be frequenting NYC monthly for work). I am THAT happy with my hair. It's rare to find someone who has mastered color, even more rare to find someone who can work with red hair. I unequivocally recommend Paul Michaels.

Great cut & personalized attention. I called Paul Michael after reading the reviews to see if he could squeeze me in for a haircut. I told him my husband was whisking me away with no notice in a few days and how I desperately needed a haircut and Paul arranged to see me that day. I had not had my haircut in 17 months (I know, scary, but new baby = ponytail!) so I just told him to do whatever he wanted. I walked out with the most beautiful & flattering cut. Plus, he styled it in a way I never would have tried but loved. If you have long hair and are ready to take the plunge for a fresh, updated 'do, I could not recommend him more!!

Great Find!!. I had my hair done by Paul at at Paul Michaels Hair Salon, he was great he gave me lots of input on what is gonna work best with myhair, the color he did was amazing and the cut just asgreat ,this was the best my hair has looked in a long time. I have gotten so many compliments, I wish I discovered Paul years ago..

Favorite Haircut in a Long Time. I recently moved to the area and decided to try Paul's because of the positive reviews I read on citysearch. I am glad to say that my experience with Paul was very positive. He paid close attention to what I told him and gave good advice about what would look good. I let him take off a number of inches--and he was right about what it would do for my look! The salon has a comfortable atmosphere, and I felt a strong sense of teamwork from all the stylists. Paul also welcomed almost everyone who came in by their first name, showing that he maintains his clients and remembers them. My cut cost $50, which I found very reasonable considering what D.C. salons charge.

Paul MIchaels Hair salon. My name is sara, i have been a client of Pauls for about 7 years now, I have to say he is great , very consistent with my color and cuts. When i sit in his chair I have a piece of mind, I know that my hair is going to look fabulous!! He is also sooo nice!!
