I love middle eastern cuisine and have sporadically eaten here (about 5-6 times/year) over the last 7 years. Today's visit will be my last. Not because the food is bad; it's still good. But they have gotten chinsier (sp?) and chinsier with their portions and are sometimes rude. I take it to go b/c I'm always on the run. It used to be they would give you lots of rice. Today, as the guy filled only one side of the to-go box with rice, then removed some to make sure that one side didn't have too much, I asked for a little more. He asked if I was going to pay more. I said no, but I'm not taking the other stuff that comes with it either (3 other things that come on the buffet mix). Sorry sir. No problem. I took extra napkins (about 4 inches worth) - silly person, the napkins cost more than the rice and everything else on the platter (which is why places now have 1-sheet napkin dispensers or keep them behind the register) and he lost my business forever.

I used to go here once a week when I lived/worked in the area. They are now open 24 hours and attract all sorts of people - cab drivers, office workers, partiers, etc. I usually get the boneless chicken that comes with rice, salad, and a side or two. Sometimes I get the palace combo that consists of chicken and beef. Make sure you are ready to wait 15 min or so for your food if you don't call ahead.

My hubby and I frequent this place since the mid-late 90's. As the previous commentor describes, the ambience is pretty boring, but the food is great! I recommend the bone-in chicken (more moist). Also, you must try the Chickpea dal! It's the best I've ever had. The spinach side is good too. On weekends they serve Haleem which is a great substitue if you're tired of kabobs.
