Simply Authentic Mexican. This place is literally a block from our apartment and we've been a few times. We love it! It's real Mexican food with a Mariachi band who plays during dinner. Definitely makes you feel like you're in Mexico.

The food has been outstanding with great prices. Platters start at just $12 and fajita combos start at $17. The portions are very big and usually have leftovers for lunch the next day. Margaritas are also tasty and you can buy them by the half or full pitcher. Tuesday nights are their $5 margaritas and they also serve weekend brunch. Sometimes it takes a few minutes from the time you sit down until you're actually greeted by a server. However, once the order is finally placed, the food doesn't take long to get to your table. It's never packed but always a steady stream of patrons.

This is our go-to place for Mexican. Definitely a must try!

El Paso Cafe: A Taste of El Salvadore. The best mexican-style cuisine in D.C.! A must eat! The service is fast and friendly and the food is fantastic. The salsa alone is to die for. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the walls are bedecked with traditional El Salvadorian decorations. If you miss this place, then you are missing a real treat! I make sure to stop in at least once a month.
