Major Complaint!. This place sucks! I was immediately kicked out for smoking a cigaret while waiting inline outside. When several of my friends friends questioned the bouncer why, and tried to explain that the rules were not clear to someone from Florida, the bouncer immediately ban them from entering as well. Apparently saying "its DC what do you think" in response to "is smoking allowed?" Means that it is not! I was not given a second chance even after apologizing nicely for the misunderstanding. On top of this, he also kick out several friend who are minorities for no reason at all! I suggest that no one goes to this venue Unless you like strict rules and shitty service along with power hungry bouncers.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Local and international bands play The Black Cat nearly seven nights a week in an unpretentious atmosphere. Two performance spaces--the checkered floor Mainstage and downstairs Backstage--allow for multiple shows or events per night. Familiar names--like Camera Obscura, Diplo and Ted Leo and the Pharmaciststs--appear alongside local acts and themed DJ dance nights like 80s alt-pop and Prince versus Michael Jackson. For something low-key, patrons grab a bite in the Food for Thought Cafe or a drink in the Red Room, the establishment's no-cover bar, which features PacMan, a pinball machine, a jukebox and pool table. Other events have included vintage zombie movie screenings and performances by Girls Rock! DC.

I'm not happy with the people who works there..... For some reason the security people asked us to leave, place was little noisy, we were next to the stage, we slightly touch some acustic instruments, but that was it, somebody came over and without any warning ask us out, I'm not overrecting, it was awful........ALSO the, I guess, "Lady"? behind the counter selling the tickets was "absurd rude", looking tired, mad, crazy stupid, without care of the people, I don't expect her to act professional, to do that, you hace to have at least certain amount of inteligent, and she showed that night she doesn't have it.....I will be back, just because I want to and because I can do that if that pleased me, but be aware, that people are kindless ..
