Excels at live music. The Dubliner excels at live music and the drink menu. Live music happens every night of the week, and the bar is well stocked
The food here is surprisingly good for a pub. A nice place to dine, especially outside on a sunny day. The food here is surprisingly good for a pub. You should try the fish and chips of course. Very crisp, yet not just full of batter. Cheeseburgers are thick and juicy and comes with all the trimmings.
LOVE the Guiness Burger!!!!. The decor has that old Irish pub feel (which, if it didn't, I'd be disappointed since that's what it's SUPPOSED to be). The service was great, and the meals we had were excellent. My Guiness Burger was frickin' awesome! I think it might've been one of the best meals I've had in a while. The next day, we ordered the Irish breakfasts - the full breakfast and the omelette and both were delicious. I thought the omelette was unique with the herbed sour cream as that's not something I've had before.
Give it a shot!. This is the first place I ever had a meal in D.C.. It has become an institution for my family, and almost every time we go to the city, we come here. I have had nothing but great service, food, drinks, and fun. It is just right. Homey, big wood bar, not that expensive, great beer, perfect atmosphere. Give it a shot!
Great Irish Pub!!!. I do enjoy the outside patio and the service is always excellent. I like the Irish accents floating around. I'll continue to come here.
I would recommend this friendly pub to anyone!. I have never had a bad evening here. The drinks and food are good, staff is attentive if sitting at the bar before catching a train at Union Station, on the patio on a warm summer evening or even at a small table with a view of the singer/band. I mainly come for a couple of pints and the music which never disappoints. I can't think of another place in DC you can go for good live music everyday of the week. This IS an Irish bar, which has been in this spot for 35 years, my parents have stories of it and since moving to DC I have a few myself. I would recommend this friendly pub to anyone with love of Irish music and food, it is easily accessible from Metro (red line), bus, MARC, Amtrak and any way you get around or to the city.
