Irish Food, Irish Beer, Irish Fun.
I've visited Ireland and had a taste of the land of Guinness and Irish breakfast, so in the odd occasion when I miss the Emerald Isle I pretty much turn to Fado to fulfill my yearning. There's not much to say about Irish food in the same light that English food is, well, lacking in some respects. But if you like a big, hearty breakfast that will make you full till dinner then go for their Irish breakfast. I often get Strongbow here to drink since its one of the few bars in D.C. that offers it. But what I like are the shows - they often have local (even Irish-inspired) bands playing on certain nights each week. I used to go on Thursdays to watch local favorate Scythian play, and it was always a rip-roaring good time.

Citysearch Editorial Review.
Just steps from the Verizon Center in the heart of Chinatown is Fadó, a welcoming Irish pub that aims to deliver all the sights, sounds and tastes of the Emerald Isle. This low-key, dimly lit bar faithfully recreates the atmosphere of a Dublin alehouse, from its dark wood and stone interior to the eclectic collection of imported memorabilia lining the walls. As long as the place isn't completely packed--which it often is, especially during major sporting events and on weekend nights--the ample seating and traditional Irish food make Fadó a good bet for grabbing a pint and a bite to eat for parties of all sizes. Live Celtic music and televised sports including soccer and rugby are also often available for those looking to experience a slice--or a swig, as the case may be--of authentic Irish culture.
