Tips for The Capital Grille

Superb dining. We dropped in after a long day touring....and we were seated promptly without a reservation, and seriously underdressed.

The waitperson was very attentive, and gave us the information and time we needed to choose from a nice menu. The breads and salads were quite nice, and the steaks superb, cooked to perfection and with great taste. Without alcohol we spent almost $75 for each of our party of four, but we all left with a smile on our faces. Worth the splurge.

DC Atmosphere. Capital Grille is a wonderful place to take out of town guests (not from New York or Europe however!) who admire the old-fashioned substantial atmosphere. It looks senatorial. The food is adquate if uninspired (although one time I had a very disgusting vegetable dish swimming in slightly rancid butter). It is suitable for business meetings. I would not suggest it for more personal or intimate occasions.

Award-winning steaks and first class service make for a four-star dining experience.. In Short
Richness and warmth radiate from the plush leather seating and mahogany trim. Whether patrons prefer the filet mignon or a 24-ounce porterhouse, the dry-aged beef is guaranteed to please and is the cornerstone of a menu that also features hand-cut chops and fresh seafood. With hundreds of selections, the wine list is also impressive.
