The Cheers of D.C..
If you are looking for a fancy night out in heels and a party dress you have come to the WRONG place! The Exchange is one of my favorite places in D.C., not because of the Top 40s music and preppy boys, but because I can be myself, drink how I want, and I know the staff always will treat me like I have been friends with them for 20 years.
Famous for hosting sporting teams in the area, the Exchange has many personalities. In the day and early evening you will find area corporate workers, families, and tourists enjoying lunch or dinner, but after 7 p.m. on many nights of the week the Exchange flips around to accommodate the party-animal athletics in the area.
On its non-busy nights the Exchange is a great place to go enjoy watching a game on one of their big screen TVs and get to know the locals. If you are looking for a LOCAL bar with personality, out-going staff, and great chicken tenders, stop by the Exchange on your way home.
Sux. went for happy hour and the server was too busy texting. tho we only paid $5 for our burgers which were normally $9. the burgers were almost as good as Wendys.
Avoid if at all possible.
Avoid this place like the plague if at all possible... the Exchange most closesly resembles a chuckecheese for adults... not quite a sports bar and not quite an after work watering hole the exchange ofers subpar food and lousy drink specials in hope that you will stop by out of sheer desperation/ignorance.
All of these problems are compounded by slow and unimpressive staff and management. All in all, you can do better if you just walk in any other direction and just keep your eyes peeled.
