Large, comfortable Irish pub. I have a long history with Ireland's Four Fields, going back to dinners there with my family as a child. The large dining area is great, but it fills up fast on weekends, St. Patty's day and on Wednesday nights for quiz night.

The traditional Irish menu is all good, and they even offer half portion sizes for dinner, which is a nice touch. Go for a good Guinness and Irish meal, and you will probably stay around for a game of darts, a try at their quiz (which is actually a fairly hard and lengthy one!) or for live music.

Citysearch Editorial Review. Located across the street from the Cleveland Park metro, Ireland's Four Fields--or 4P’s, as locals call it--has remained largely unchanged since it opened in the 1970s. The extensive beer and Irish whiskey selection attracts locals--especially college students--who are picky about drink quality but crave that pub food grease. The menu provides a good mix between traditional Irish meals such as bangers and mash or Irish breakfast and everyday American fare such as sliders, nachos and loaded potato skins. The decor, however, is all Ireland; with painted murals of Irish scenes, Celtic knots carved into wooden boarders and the occasional Gaelic phrase accenting its walls, there's a reason it's consistently named one of the best Irish pubs in D.C. by publications such as the Washington Post and Washingtonian magazine.
