Gem on Dupont. Wonderful, wonderful Greek food! A friend and I went there for dinner and simply could not stop eating. The taste of everything was spot on. The calamari was perfectly cooked, and the vegetarian platter was quite simply some of the best vegetarian food I've had.
Citysearch Editorial Review. This Dupont Circle eatery is a popular local spot to grab classic Mediterranean dishes. The menu focuses on Greek fare--such as gyros, falafel sandwiches and spanakopita--as well as a decent selection of specialty pizzas. The fresh-baked bread is a large draw; everything from the feta rolls to the pita bread and the pizza's garlic bread crust is homemade daily. The place is low-key--just order at the counter, wait for your number, then seat yourself with your tray of food--but there's no skimping on quality and taste. To make the most of the experience, try the imported Greek wine; bottled beer is also available, but options such as Retsina--a white wine flavored with pine resin-- really contribute to the authenticity. Combined with the traditional Greek music and blue-and-white tablecloths matching framed photos of the islands, it's easy to forget the American location.
