Citysearch Editorial Review. This family-owned Italian restaurant situated at busy Connecticut and R streets has been a Dupont dining fixture since opening in 1987; the prominent patio, with its lush greenery, umbrellas and people-watching, makes it a favorite locale for grabbing a glass of wine and traditional Italian fare on warm summer nights.

Back to the Basics. Remeber when you were last warmly greeted by name at the door of a restaurant and the host knowlingly showed yout o the most comfortable location and made sure the cocktail served was the one that you favored. Remember when attentive but not over bearing service was common in fine dining, well it still rests well in this family owned italian restaurant. While not setting diamonds on a tiara, the food is consistent competent italian cuisine from the center of italy. a reasonable wine list and a kind of service that makes you feel so glad you came moments after you walk in. The bar has a fine selection a grappas and unusual liquers from around the world, but people watching is a wonderful after dinner event as virtually the entire restaurant is walled windows looking out on one of the most vibrant spots in Washington D.C.
