Sushi Taro makes some of the best and freshest sushi in DC. The atmosphere is very nice, but can get very loud, especially in the small rooms. The prices are pretty typical for sushi. The service is generally pretty good.

Great food? yes. Bad host? yes. I was there for my friend's b-day dinner and of course they don't take reservation so I went up there to put my name down. The host laughed at me and told me to come back next week because the wait is 2 hours. Put out a sign or something on the door. (NO MO FOOD)

Located above a CVS along the busy 17th Street restaurant corridor in Dupont Circle, this sushi restaurant makes you forgot all about DC once you've walked up the steps to the second floor dining area. You have three seating choices, at the sushi bar, traditional Japanese tatami mats, or Western tables and chairs. The selection of fresh fish and other seafood is wonderful...and definitely check the specials board as the chefs tend to use seasonal items here. The great quality definitely comes at a price. It is a rare occasion where we've left without spending at least $50-$60+ per person.
