Irish Pub in Chinatown. Though it's tucked away in the Red Roof Inn, the Irish Channel isn't your typical hotel bar. It's a classic Irish pub nestled in the heart of Chinatown. Good place for groups and I'd definitely recommend popping in here before or after a game for food and drinks. The staff is very friendly and engaging and welcomes typical Irish behavior.
Citysearch Editorial Review. The Irish Channel is just around the corner from the Verizon Center and attached to Chinatown's Red Roof Inn, and thanks to the DC United, Caps and Wizards memorabilia, visitors who stumble in after a big game might mistake as just another sports or hotel bar. But its combination of Irish and Cajun fare is uniquely authentic. Patrons who sample the homey Irish dishes such as chicken pot pie or Charlesville skins--potato skins stuffed with shepherd’s pie and named after the owners’ hometown in Ireland--will feel like instant regulars. New Orleans-inspired dishes such as spicy jambalaya and a pork chop topped with a bourbon-based sauce are also good bets. Topped off by live Irish tunes, friendly bartenders and artfully poured pints of Guinness, Irish Channel blends Southern hospitality and Irish generosity.
