The atmosphere at Tosca is very nice and high class, and the prices reflect that, but the food doesn't really live up to it. It's not bad, but I expected better. The service is excellent.

This gets my vote as DC's top Italian. Chef Cesare LaFrancone I think has surpassed his mentor ROberto DOnna as the top Italian Chef in the city. While the decor is modern but bland, the food will provide you with memories to last a lifetime. Their risotto is worthy of song, and the vast array of dishes presents the best of all of Italy's culinary regions. Reservations recommended. They also have a discounted pre-theater menu.

Elegant and Romantic and quiet (although crowded). Our hotel said it was casual - but I felt uncomfortable in Business Casual. A wonderful place for an anniversary or a "secret" rendevous.
