Tips for Dermatology Associates Of Northern Virginia

HORRIBLE DOCTORS! If you want to be personally insulted and feel terrible about yourself, go here. They treat you like a number, then send you home with very very expensive medications that don't treat your problem but just make it worse. And when you try to reach them, you have to use a different number than the one listed on their card. Difficult, mean, hellish people. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Staff is TERRIBLE. The first time I went the staff behind the desk were loud, rude and difficult to work with, but the doctor was good.

The second time I went, they had lost my records. I had an argument with the doctor over the treatment of the first visit. She said it wasnt in my record...it wasn't in my record because her STAFF LOST IT!

I felt I would stick with them because my third visit was much better. Iwas prescribed a cleanser and garaunteed that it was ok during pregnancy. When I got pregnant, I called the office 3 times to verify and each time the staff garaunteed me the cleanser was pregnancy safe. Fast forward to the 9 th month of my pregnancy and I needed a refill. I had stopped using the product but thought to refill for after my son's birth. The doctor told me it was a a harmful drug that shouldn't be used during pregnancy!.

This group is rude, they have poor record keeping habits, they don't listen to their patients and they are incompetent! Do not go here if you value your own health!

TERRIBLE DERMATOLOGISTS. Billed me wrong. They billed me of a biopsy for crying out loud. Tried to convince me I was wrong. lol. They don't care and they often display how they feel pretty openingly.

Unbelievable and Terrible. Its no joke. This place really deserves a one star rating. If you check their website its all 5 star ratings. Go at your own risk.

Despite their terrible service I figure all I needed from them was prescriptions so I kept going. I literally waited more than two weeks for my doctors to authorize my prescription. Two weeks in which my skin was getting worse. We called them telling them the gravity of the situation and still they did not. My pharmacy had to bi-pass this themselves.

This place really needs to get sewed and close down. They could potentially hurt a client due to their incompetence.

AVOID. This is the first time I have posted a negative review: Long waits for the Doctor while in chilly exam room wearing paper gown. Phone calls not returned regarding surprise bills. The communication in the office is some of the worst I've ever experienced. No one accepting responsibility for errors made on their part. I will not be back.

Best Doctors Around!!!. I have seen the doctors here going on 5 yrs plus now. I can always get in when needed, even if its the same day I call. The office is clean and well kept. I truly appreicate all they have done for me.

Avoid this place. I agree with all of the previous reviews! The billing department is a nightmare! When I first spoke with the person in billing, she told me that they were waiting on forms from my insurance company. I replied that someone else told me that they already sent the form to my insurance company (which my insurance company told me that if they sent it they did not recieve it). She then put me on hold and came back and told me they did send it. I asked her which was it, did they send it or didnt they? She replied that they did all they could, what more did I want from her. I asked her if she could call my insurance company and speak to them directly instead of me playing middle man. She replied that they did not do that. This whole process has been a nightmare, thank god my insurance company is doing something on their part or I would be paying this out of pocket. I am searching for a new dermatologist asap!

Could not be another worse nightmare. I echo other reviews. Please avoid at all costs. I did not even know that I owe them $97, which they billed the insurance agency wrong in the first place, which I corrected them. I am surprised to get a call from collection agency and hear that I owe them money.

Called up their offices, and hear from 2 of their staff that it is not their fault, my fault. They did not have the courtsey to send me any notice before. Moreover, they hung up on me. By the way, I am not a yelling kind of person.

I have dumped them. I am paying for their service. I do not need any favor. I do not need their service to all of a sudden realize that my credit is trashed and also to get their rude behavior.

Not Recommended. Avoid at all costs. Bad staff, bad doctors. Receptionist is very rude. Billing did not submit my claim to insurance in time & tried to stick me with the bill. Billing lady had slight accent but clearly did not understand english. Dr. Talanin spends very little time with patients & is not concerned about scarring. I have visible scars on my face & so does my husband. I asked the Dr. to biopsy a mole & he said he didn't think it was anything. Turned out to be skin cancer. I asked him to remove a red spot on my face. He stuck a probe in it & charged me $75. The spot returned & spread. It"s rosacea. Asked for Retin-A and a Swedish (??) lady gave me the wrong instructions. Ended up with burns on my face. Learned that the normal dose is 5 times less. When I told Dr. Mattay about it, she made a remark that at least I 'got it over with' (the treatment) quickly. Dr. Mattay is very good w/cosmetics, but is booked 1-2 months out. Seeing her is not worth dealing with the rest of the circus.
