Citysearch Editorial Review. In the heart of Adams Morgan, The Reef restaurant focuses on free-range, organic and sustainable fare, though it's probably best known as a hopping 18th Street nightlife destination. The jungle-themed Lush bar on the ground floor is a dark spot for intimate drinks, while glowing fish tanks illuminate booths on the sprawling main level. For fresh air, head to the canopy-covered rooftop; a flower box-covered railing helps to provide some serenity from the bustling street below, and a row of fans attached to the building helps breezes flow on humid nights (it's also heated during the winter). The interesting beer selection is not to be missed--find unusual brews such as Mama's Little Yella Pils, Chimay Triple and Lagunitas IPA--and the menu's organic fare includes seasonal treats such as grass-fed Virginia beef meatballs and heirloom panzanella.
