Latin food in old towne.
The service here was well above average. Although we probably would have liked a slight bit more attention to our check, I think it adds to the character of this place. It's a leisurely atmosphere, and the waiters aren't ignoring you. They simply aren't expecting you to leave in 30 minutes. In Washington DC, these type of waiters would be a welcome refreshment.
It should also be mentioned that they serve complimentary plantain chips which my friend thought were certainly comparable to the ones at Ceiba. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I'm pretty sure it was meant to be a compliment. In any event, I tried the plantain chips and enjoyed them.
If you ever find yourself on the waterfront in Old Town, it is worthwhile to cross onto the other side of Washington on King Street and stop by this cute Nuevo Latino restaurant for lunch. It is certainly not a tourist trap.
