Great lunch spot. Zaytinya is a great lunch option if you happen to be in Penn Quarter around noon. It is also good for dinner, but the restaurant can get loud and the bill can add up pretty quickly. My favorite lunch option is the cerkez on toasted olive bread - a tasty shredded chicken sandwich with roasted red peppers and feta cheese, served with their tasty potates (fries) with yogurt. The htipiti is also great, lunch or dinner.

Whenever you go, make sure to get the greek yogurt dessert with apricots and honey. To die for!

Great Tastes of the Mediterranean. If you've been to any of Jose Andres' restaurants in DC, then you know he'll deliver, even though Zaytinya breaks away from his usual Spanish flair. I've been here for brunch and for happy hour and loved both experiences. Their brunch dishes are excellent - you'll find many of the restaurant's lunch and dinner staples like kibbeh but also many delicious breakfast items like omelets and french toast. Drinks are excellent here as well; the pom fili has the right about of alcohol and sweetness to get you through the night, and the bar offers many of their delicious tapas (get the shrimp!).

Fantastic tapas. Seriously??? The delectable incredibleness that is Zaytinya is almost beyond words. YES! YES! YES! From the housemade phyllo, pitas, ice cream & sorbet (cherry & hazlenut were out favs) to the decor... the service... everything.

An incredible evening was had by all... I think we split 12 courses and had the ice cream/sorbet trio for dessert. They are indeed small plates... but mama was STUFFED by the time we left. Truly delicious... wish i could've tried one of their specialty cocktails but i was heading to work right after the meal...

we will DEFINITELY be back... try AS MUCH as you can on the menu... you will NOT be disappointed!!! The options are plenty and exotic!

Citysearch Editorial Review. Another culinary creation from the mind of chef/restaurateur extraordinaire José Andrés, Zaytinya brings Andrés’ signature tapas-style flair to Mediterranean cuisine. Here, classic Greek, Turkish and Lebanese dishes get the small-plate treatment from head chef Mike Isabella--a former “Top Chef” contender--with eye-catching results. Savory spreads like htipiti--roasted red pepper with feta cheese--are served alongside hot, airy pouches of fresh pita bread before the main event. Popular choices on the mezze-style menu include lamb kebab, sauteed shrimp and vegetarian options like crispy eggplant with roasted garlic-yogurt sauce. Zaytinya’s main dining room, a modern, open space with high ceilings and white walls, is regularly packed with diners and large groups of all ages and backgrounds in this lively Penn Quarter hot spot.

Zaytinya is great. This is the greatest restraunt I have ever eaten in, very good food, exellent service. However, the food does cost a lot, so be sure to bring lots of money. Also, dress nicely, it is very fancy and upper-class.
