Great for Sports-Watching and Beer Guzzling. So this place is called RFD for "Regional Food and Drink" but I don't think the food is their strong point. I like coming here for happy hour or late night drinks with friends, but I tend to opt out of ordering food when I can. They offer mediocre, typical American dishes that work if you're starving and just need something to soak up all that beer. I like that they carry cider and tons of varieties and hard-to-find beer names. There's also always a game on, so you'll have plenty of entertainment to go with that drink.
Sports Bar with Largest Beer List Around.
When entertaining a large group of friends in D.C. with a strict food craving of burgers and beer I decided to take them to RFD close to the Chinatown/Gallery Place metro. To say they fell in love with the beer choices is an understatement. When visiting me in D.C. on their bi-annual trips, they ALWAYS ask to return back to RFD. This center city sports bar not only offers sports fans a large space for dinning but also quenches the beer lovers thirst, offering over a 100 different types of beer each day.
If you are entertaining a large party or want a private room, RFD also rents out a private space in the back with affordable catering treats right from their restaurant menu.
Citysearch Editorial Review. Situated in Chinatown just a block from the Verizon Center, Regional Food and Drink (or RFD, as it's known) is a magnet for ale aficionados and lager lovers looking for a place to wet their whistles. The restaurant's sizeable menu of 300 bottled beers may not quite measure up to the 1,000-plus options at its sister saloon, The Brickskeller, but RFD has the upper hand on draft beer. With 30 rotating imports and domestic microbrews on tap including Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, it boasts one of the largest draft selections in the city. A few beer-influenced dishes like the lager-marinated Brew Burger round out the menu of fairly standard bar food options, but make no mistake--at RFD, the beer comes first.
