Great Rooftop Deck, Cool Space. Local 16 is a staple for those living in the U St. area (as I used to) or those who frequent the area at night. There's lots of space in this 2 story lounge but its popularity leads it to fill up pretty quickly, especially on weekends. There is quite a bit of seating but you'll more than likely end up standing. If it's not too packed, the rooftop deck is great, especially when the weather is warm or a bit cool. Drinks are pretty good, usually strong, so you don't feel like you're spending too much. I have been on several occasions in which the DJ was great and I danced the night away - however, I have been at times when the DJ plays trashy Euro-house that's too annoying to listen or even dance to.

Late night hotspot!. Nearly always my last stop on a night out - Local 16 is a great option for the night-owl. During the summer, the upstairs outdoor deck is very popular, but warm summer breezes make me forget how busy it is. The downstairs tables are comfortable and cozy on weeknights, but brimming with 20 and 30-somethings on the weekend. Drinks are good - but Local is more about atmosphere for me.
