Rice done nicely – The ingredients are good quality. Surprisingly, the sushi fish is decent and the rice done nicely, for an Asian delivery joint. Even the (crabstick, but still tasty) California rolls.
Really great deal – $10 bento boxes at lunch are a really great deal for the amount of food you get: an entr
Only takes about 30 minutes – Delivery only takes about 30 minutes. When you have a limited window in which to eat, this is crucial.
Lunch winner – When you work in a school, going out for lunch is rarely -- if ever -- a possibility. It also means a lot of mornings dashing out of the house at the last minute with your toast in your teeth, your coat half on, and your neatly packed lunch still in the fridge. So you learn to cultivate relationships with restaurants that will deliver, and my coworkers and I have mastered this art. Bambu is one of our favorite places to order for a number of reasons: It's "pan-Asian" which is usually a restaurant's undoing. But with a motley crew of coworkers all sporting different tastes, it's nice to have a bit of variety, from Americanized Chinese to Japanese and Thai. Definitely a delivery lunch winner.
Can't wait to come back – The sushi was very reasonably priced and quite tasty. I loved how many noodle dishes they had on the menu; can't wait to come back and worth my way through all of them - I have my work cut out for me!
Yummm! I can't believe I've lived in the neighborhood for so long without discovering this place. The Japanese noodle soup with udon, spinach, and a poached egg was intensely flavorful and delicious (I'd recommend it with beef). The Thai noodle soup with wide rice noodles and cilantro came in a mild, clear broth that I had to spice up with Sriacha and soy sauce - the Chinese noodle soup with lo mein or go with the Udon soup before ordering this one again.
You know going to their store I felt a real sense of owner pride. The place was absolutely beutifull and their selection of watches and diamond jewelry was great. I checked out their prices with local competition, and they had the best price. Definately recommend it.
Great food is great food.
And Bambu has great food.
They're all nice individuals even though their minds can often be on other orders. They have always responded quickly to anything I've requested. The prices are not low. They are fairly healthy prices and I can sometimes do a doubletake when my bill total is announced- but its a fairly minor doubletake as doubletakes go and the food is always clean, fresh, and tasty.
Having eaten at Bambu probably over 100 times by now I can honestly say that I love pretty much everything on the menu. The Chinese is uniformly good, the Thai is great ( if you eat it at the restaurant- it doesn't travel well- and I particularly love the sushi. Is it the best I"ve ever had?? No. It isn't. But it's pretty fantastic for a neighborhood place and I've eaten sushi at many different places all around the world so I have some sort of reference point.
