Neighborhood Gem by U Street.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant, especially if you live in the U Street/Columbia Heights area. There are lots of vegetarian and vegan choices as well for your non-meat eating friends. The chicken panini is probably my favorite sandwich with its spicy mayonaise and the Mediterranean burger is amazing, using pita bread instead of a bun with a flavorful meat patty and goat cheese. The pizza is alright, but I would probably recommend that you stick to the sandwiches, burgers, and salads.
