A Taste of 5th Avenue in DC. A huge part of what makes a shop great is the service, and Hu's has it. I've always been greeted warmly here and the salespeople are never standoffish or pretentious (unlike many boutiques in Georgetown). They carry an excellent selection of shoes and some other accessories (like purses) from many designer names, some of whom you can't find elsewhere in DC: Alexander McQueen, Lanvin, and Costume National, to name a few. The salespeople are eager to help especially if you're looking for something specific, they will personally bring you a selection of shoes if you're not exactly sure what to try on. Expect to pay big bucks here, however - because of their designer-caliber selection, it's hard to find shoes for less than $200. But if you've got the money, spend it here.
Fabulous Shoe Boutique in Georgetown. fell in love with Hu's Shoes the moment I stepped into the store. As a gal that usually shops at Neiman Marcus, Net-a-Porter and Brown Fashion or even make the trip up to NYC for luxury brand shoes, I couldn't help but gasp as I perused this cozy spot on M Street. Don't let the minimalist appearance fool you. Each season Marlene travels the world to stock only the most coveted designers. Her clients have very discerning taste and she knows what they want. Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Guiseppe Zanotti, Maison Martin Margiela, Lanvin, Givenchy, Brian Atwood, the list goes on. Hu's Shoes is Washington's gateway to New York and London fashion where the most coveted shoes from the latest season are showcased in all their glory. The interior is warm and inviting with excellent customer service from Marlene, Eric and Courtney. Get ready to whip out the plastic because you will want to take home every shoe in the boutique.
