Citysearch Editorial Review. This petite Logan Circle eatery is equal parts restaurant, lounge and coffee bar--but it’s 100 percent American. Stars and stripes tastefully accent the various red, white and blue decor, but the USA theme doesn't detract from the real star: a versatile menu that boasts both refined fare--such as the Serrano and Gruyere sandwich and spinach and goat cheese quiche--as well as comfort foods like sliders and nachos. Breakfast is served all day, but for something a little stronger there's a full bar too with beer, wine and cocktails like the very-American Ruby Slipper: Absolute Ruby Red, Triple Sec, passion fruit and pomegranate juice. To round out the theme, Commissary uses only biodegradable materials, used recycled materials for furnishings and focuses on local, organic food.
