Cool space, cheap noodles.
Being asian, I love noodles, whether they come from China or from Italy. So I jumped on the opportunity to try the new-ish DC Noodles on U St. It's great for both takeout and delivery (which is offered in the evenings for a $15 minimum order), and you don't have to wait long for a takeout order. The dishes are pretty solid - I've enjoyed a good Drunken Noodle with beef, which had a good amount of spice (but not too much), plenty of vegetables, and well-seasoned, well-cooked beef. I could've used a bit more sauce on mine, though (thus the point of it being "drunken"). Essentially DC Noodles is a good spot for handling a Thai fix, and they have a nice bar that serves cocktails, margaritas, wines and beer.

This U Street Thai restaurant has seen several incarnations over the years (Rice and Simply Home) but the owners seemed to have settled on this modern, casual take on Thai food with a focus on noodles--get them from the wok or in a salad, soy soup, clear soup, spicy soup or coconut curry--in a cool, clean-lined dining room where bright red and crisp gray walls contrast with white chairs and wooden tables for two.
