Worst restaurant ever. I've been to many restaurants in DC and I would vote that one the worst in town. I've been there on two occasions: - business lunch: ABSOLUTELY impossible to have a proper conversation. This place is one of the loudest of DC (it means something) - a dinner planned with a friend. After being told the table would be ready in 20 minutes, we went to the bar, waited for 15 minutes, asked again how long we would have to wait... guess what: 20 minutes. - in general, the food is low quality and outragously expensive

Wine Seller Cellar. Neon aquamarine fluorescence bathes an older set sipping on fluted champagne and cocktails at this below-ground restaurant and bar. Rather empty on a Friday night, the basement space was almost too classy for its own good. Faux-reptile skin couches and black-trimmed bar stools sit below rows of bottled wine racked along the walls. The bartender, all in black too, was attentive, warm, and congenial, providing the wine bar some needed levity. The cheese also looked great, though I’d just had dinner. The bar/lounge space was much more fun than the formal dining room, where I wouldn’t have been surprised to see someone sitting in a corner canoodling with his mail-order bride.

Spacious, but yet cozy wine bar in Dupont. In my search for great wine bars, Urbana always came up, yet I hadn't gone until last night. It's underneath the Hotel Palomar in Dupont. Literally underground but there's a big sign out front so it's easy to find. I went for happy hour with $5 wine and appetizers and $8 pizzas. The bar/lounge area was really nice with the cozy couches. It's pretty spacious once you're inside so you barely feel like you're underground!

The wine list looked great, however, they only offer house wine for the happy hour specials. I ordered the lamb meatballs, crab beignets and a margherita pizza. All of the food was delicious and the pizza was big enough to share with 3-4 people.

I will definitely be back, hopefully for dinner next time.

Wine and cheese, please!. This place is underneath the Palomar hotel and right next to Pizza Paradiso on P Street. It doesn't get busy until later in the night so reservations aren't needed if you head over early, especially on a week night. I went here after work with a friend and we had some wine and ordered a cheese board. My only critique was that our waitress had a lot of trouble identifying wines and cheeses and being able to recommend anything from the menu. Despite that, the wine was still great and the cheese board was delicious. Skip the formal dining room tables and try to grab a spot in the lounge area - it's better for conversation and people watching.
