Citysearch Editorial Review. The Pug--short for Pugilist--lives up to the name with its old boxing photos and red gloves hung up behind the bar. Other than that, this H Street dive is a hodgepodge of things: Movie-theater chairs mix with barstools, decor consists of a collection of various knick-knacks, and a pool table just fits in the back. It may not be entirely a sports bar or a theme bar, but the philosophy--chalked on tiny black boards above the bar--is clear: No idiots. No specials. No politics. No bombs. Mostly, it's an unpretentious neighborhood bar for true locals in search of a good cheap beer.
