Yo' Tony! I need some help...
Listen, Tony's Auto Service repair shop are pros. They service buses from around the metropolitain area for the US Government. I know, I saw them working on them there.
They have a huge set of repair bays, and a large number of ASE certificates hanging off their walls. The place is a big of a throw back to Auto service stations of years ago - but don't let that fool you. They know what they're doing. And their pricing is fair. You see all makes and models being serviced there.
It's also a short walk to the Braddock Metro stop, and also not far from Route 1 where many local busses go.
Listen, it's where I take my car when I can't fix it myself... and I'm a rocket scienist. So, anyways, if you got the wrecker there and you're ready to shell out cash to a dealer - go right ahead. But if you're like me, and you keep your car for more than a couple of years - and you got issues - go see Tony's.
AMAZING, most trustworthy bunch of mechanics I've ever encountered 'round these parts - heard about 'em in the first place because of word of mouth. Once, I took my car in for squeaky brakes and figured I'd need to get them all replaced, got it in same day, rec'd a call a few hours later where they told me the brakes were just dirty and that they cleaned 'em up for cheap and that the car was ready. Who does that???
I will never take my vehicle to Tony's
again. I trusted the reviews of Tony's on Yelp (and AAA) and unfortunately it ended up costing me.
OVERPRICED - My first trip to Tony's - I had a leaky hose, easy repair, but considering I don't have a garage to do the work myself (like most people in the area) I took it to Tony's to fix the leak and conduct a routine maintenance check. To my surprise, while fixing the hose, their mechanics found a number of things "in need of repair" - my power steering, brakes, O2 sensors, air bag sensors.. the list goes on. I trusted the reviews, and hoped the work would be done right. I paid the $1100.00 repair bill for ONLY power steering and brake repair, and ended up do the rest of the repair work (another $1000+) myself for $115.00
UNSAFE - When I got the car back, the mechanics failed to bleed my brakes. Which meant the first stop I attempted to make nearly didn't happen and I landed in the middle of on coming traffic. Obviously, I returned the car to have the brakes worked on again, at no cost, gee thanks.
CROOKED- Again, I took my car to Tony's for AC repair. As a returning customer I thought perhaps Tony's would inspect the vehicle and could be trusted. WRONG. I was told a laundry list of problems, with a repair total of $1200.00 (for a $300.00 part). Their explanation was full of blatant lies. And after not agreeing to their repairs I was charged $100.00 for them to "repair" things I never consented to.
Simply put, its the best auto repair
facility in metro-DC.
I've been going there for years and I trust them.
quality work: Tony's keeps my old car running smoothly. They're not the least expensive option, but they do very good work at fair prices.
The shop is small but the service was really good. I will go back to them again when I need stuff done.
A friend recommended I take my '99 Toyota truck here after I got a repair quote from Springfield Toyota which literally took my breath away. First they told me I didn't need half the work the dealership told me I did and then they fixed the problem for a fraction of the cost. I saved literally hundreds of dollars, my truck is running fine again and you can't really ask for more than that. This place looks like an old garage you'd find on a back road, run by a couple of good ol' boys, and that's basically what it is. These guys, however, know Toyotas as well as they do Chevys and they won't do you wrong. I'm going to keep coming back.
Go here if you want good service, a fair price, and you don't want to be taken for a ride. I've had my Lexus serviced here for the past few years and haven't had a bad experience yet. The work has always been done well, I've never had to take it back. Also, when they've found problems they've been honest in telling me what I had to get fixed now and what could wait (as opposed to service shops that will swear if you didn't get every last thing done that minute your car was in mortal danger of falling apart) and I've seen them do this with other customers. The staff also is just plain nice. Works for me.
This is the best service station in the D.C. metro area. Best prices, best service and the most honest. I was told by another place my car would cost over $1000 to fix. Tony's fixed it for under $200. They are the best. Highly recommended.
