Best Rooftop Lounge and View in D.C.. Atop the W Hotel is P.O.V., an acronym for "Point of View." The view is stunning, night or day, clear skies or not. It's a very upscale, swanky bar with both an outdoor terrace and indoor lounge. It's a must-see for any D.C. local or visitors. The only downside is that you have to wait in line for the elevator and the staff can be somewhat rude. The earlier you can get there, the better. Cheers!

Best view in DC. One cannot ask for better view of the District. You can see the rose garden of the white house and the ellipse in all of their stunning glory. Though the drink prices can be steep you can not truly put a price on such a view and locale for cocktails with good company.

An amazing spot to bring out of towners.

Citysearch Editorial Review. The W Hotel's P.O.V. (That's Point of View, to the lay people) Roof Terrace and Lounge is a fashion statement; from the people right down to the ice cubes. Owner Sasha Petraske (of New York City's Milk & Honey and Little Branch) serves up finely crafted cocktails, complete with freshly squeezed juice and hand-chiseled ice, to a crowd that comes to see and be seen. Expansive views of the White House and national monuments provide an impressive backdrop for the lush red velveteen banquettes and chocolate brown high-backed chairs on the covered terrace. Inside, black-and-white tufted couches or zebra-striped cowhide stools in the lounge provide a more intimate setting, which also boasts floor-to-ceiling windows.
