Citysearch Editorial Review. Dupont's Black Fox Lounge is like "Mad Men" incarnated--a place where women can wear tailored dresses, men can be men, and both can fall in love. Like at a classy private club, the focus is on cocktails, live jazz and impeccable service, all of which are conducive to quiet conversation. The staff are well-versed in the history of D.C. and local culture; the concierge-style treatment means they'll recommend restaurants and book your dinner reservation or--if needed--even a hotel room. Classic 60s tunes play in the street-level lounge but always at a low volume; the living room-style downstairs allows guests to mingle with cocktails and hear live music around the grand piano. Rich leather banquettes, candlelight and original murals from the Watergate all contribute to the air of class and sophistication.
