38.903746 -76.981212Citysearch Editorial Review. Located near Trinidad off Bladensburg Road, the Capital City Diner is difficult to miss but hard to decipher if you don't know what you're looking for. That's because this dive is seriously tiny and located in what looks like an elevated trailer straight out of the 1950s. It seats 40--maybe--and advertises itself as "D.C.'s only authentic diner." It's not kidding; Capital City is one seriously greasy spoon where patrons can sit on stools at the bar, watch the cook flip burgers and deep fry waffle fries, all while drinking an authentic cream soda or root beer float. This no-frills joint is the perfect location for the morning after a tough night of drinking, or to score a cheap but quality omelet on the way to work.
