Dolcezza makes its gelato every morning in its flagship Georgetown location, using local milk, cream, eggs, cheese, herbs and fruit procured from local farmer friends. The artisanal part? Every step of the process is done by hand, from grinding the spices to roasting the nuts and squeezing the citrus. Flavors rotate, but can be found in varieties such as Thai coconut milk, sumatra cinnamon and Sicilian blood orange. The store also serves coffee, espresso, tea and fresh-baked pastries--including churros--so it's a great stop on the way to work as well as on the way home for an early-evening treat. Grab a seat at the communal table or at one of the stools at the bar against the window; it's worth it to sit and savor every flavor.
