Citysearch Editorial Review. In a basement level space on prime U Street real estate, Desperado’s keeps it simple with basic beers and burgers with a Cajun kick. No embellishments here: A few purple and gold beads suggest Mardi Gras and waist-high double doors are a nod to the Old West, but Desperado’s has the dark and homey feel of a dive. Start with artichoke dip or wings, and finish with one of eight half-pound, freshly ground angus beef burgers. Everything comes with your choice of sauce--Cajun (with Cajun spices in the beef), roasted garlic, chipotle or honey mustard--and fries or a loaded baked potato.
