Sure, its chicken and some sauce, but to compare it to a quick burger joint would be wrong. The “peri-peri” sauce is a tangy mélange of African and Portuguese roots. Go for the chicken combos, with filling carb-ful sides like excellent regular or sweet potato mash. Nando’s is an international chain, but manages at least to look a little classy while offering offbeat fare – look out for the chicken livers, which, like everything else, you can coat in five kinds of peri-squared sauce.
Quick, cheap and tasty!.
Nando's Peri-Peri is a great option when you are looking for a quick meal. It's a breath of fresh air when you are in a rut of other chains, and it also serves beer and wine. You can choose from a range of spices for the chicken, and sandwiches, wraps or just plain chicken. I keep going back for the chicken wrap which comes with a spicy sauce, and cool cream based sauce to dampen the spices (get it with the optional pineapple - mmm). The mashed potatoes are good, but the corn on the cob was pretty dry and boring.
If you are at the chinatown location this is a great pre-movie dinner option!
Quick, Healthy Alternative to Fast Food. Nando's is great for when you want to avoid the calories from a Big Mac but want your meal almost as fast as you can get one. The chicken here is very tasty and the sauces they offer are each delicious and accompany the chicken very well. I'm a fan of their chicken wrap, especially with it's chutney sauce. Side dishes here are OK - their cole slaw is pretty good but haven't been enticed enough to try any others. If you've got kids, Nando's also has options for children.
