Citysearch Editorial Review. With its low lighting, distressed and exposed brick walls and old-world ambiance, Cork restaurant and wine bar truly pops in this up-and-coming block of Logan Circle. Created by neighborhood residents Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts, the menu features fare fit for foodies such as small plates of grilled steak with rapini, braised radicchio and horseradish sauce and one of lemon pepper calamari and rock shrimp served with caper remoulade. Even the French fries are fancy--they come tossed in parsley, garlic and lemon and are served with house-made ketchup. Whereas the menu is short and simple--the focus is on serving what is available locally--the wine selection is extensive and offers no fewer than 50 wines by the glass and 160 bottles from small producers worldwide.
