Tips for Rocket Bar

Arcade + Bar = What more could you ask for?. Rocket Bar is a very cool concept and it's a great place for a low-key night. It's kind of reminiscent of those days in high school when you would hang out in your friend's basement playing pool, except this basement has everything from skee ball to pinball and you don't have to worry about making too much noise and waking up someone's parents. Cheers to re-living your youth!

Fun Games, Good Drinks. I like my share of posh lounges but half the time when I go out I want something chill and casual. I like Rocket Bar for that purpose because it's close to neighborhood, not pretentious, the bartenders make pretty good (strong) drinks and there are a lot of games to play (darts, pool, skeeball, etc.). There's no cover as far I can remember and drinks aren't pricey either. For some it may be too casual especially if you're into the K St. kind of crowd but those who just want to gather with friends and make it a chill night, Rocket Bar hits the spot.

Great Pregame or Post Game Venue. A nice spot to grab a drink with friends after a Caps game. Kinda hidden between a restaurant rocket bar is in the basement of a building. The dark steps open up to an extensive bar area. An assortment of good beers and a friendly environment can easy spark a game of pool or shuffle board. The attendees are mixed of all ages and make for a fun time.

Citysearch Editorial Review. With 17 flatscreen TVs, seven pool tables, six shuffle boards, three full bars, plus dart lanes, skee ball machines, board games, and jukeboxes stocked with 90s hits and classic rock, there's always something going on at Rocket Bar in Gallery Place. The basement destination is easy to miss, but a single glass door leads thirsty visitors down a lime green staircase into a sprawling bar filled with eye-opening space-age artwork and an eclectic crowd unwinding after work. They’re likely to be watching the big football game or pre-gaming for a Verizon Center event across the street. (Photo courtesy Rocket Bar.)
