Great Vibe & Decor, Excellent Happy Hour. It's great to see a very chic, comfortable spot in Penn Quarter that has a happy hour that extends to 8pm and has an excellent food/drink deal. For $8, you can choose 1 each from a list of cocktails and from a list of appetizers. So for what you'd normally pay for 1 dish elsewhere, you can fill up on drinks and food at SEI. Although the food is great (I'm a fan of their Kobe hotdog: a hotdog garnished with spicy mayo, crispy onions and other toppings), there's room for improvement with their drinks. The Asian Pear Sangrs is good, but I've had another drink (which I think is temporary as it's not on their website menu) that wasn't balanced. I like the concept of cocktails mixed with interesting spices and flavors, but the taste of cinnamon overpowered other flavors in this drink. So choose cocktails wisely or just go for beer or wine. And definitely come for the food.

Great happy hour deals. I went last night for the first time to this small asian-fusion restaurant in Chinatown. The ambiance is great and the decor is very classy. All white furniture with red decorations/paintings makes it feel very cozy and welcoming. Much like it's sister restaurant, Oya.

Happy hour is from 5-8pm Mon-Fri and you get a choice of an appetizer and a cocktail for $8. I got the kobe beef hot dog and an asian pear sangria. I think the sangria might be my new favorite drink! The appetizer portions were definitely bigger than I had anticipated which is always good. Sometimes I worry about cheap happy hour food because you literally get a bite. Not here! Kudos to them for that. Service was also great.

Only downfall, we were sitting in the lounge area by the bar and the tables were fairly small and very short. It was hard to eat at a table that was the same height as your knees, however, this was just the lounge area and I guess it's not supposed to have overly big furniture. Highlight of the night...my gf trying to sit on one of the small chairs and completely collapsed! Beware of the instability of the small stools. Otherwise, we loved the space and menu.

Creative Sushi Rolls. This small Asian-Latin fusion restaurant located just around the corner from popular spots like Jaleo has a peaceful ambiance with clean lines and white furniture. The sushi rolls are great except for the one with the okra and seems vegetarian but really isn't - it tastes the like the vegetables you were forced to eat as a kid. The cocktails are interesting and tasty, the champeaux is a sweet drink that foams like shampoo. I would give this place more stars if the girl who looks like Lady Gaga with the nasty attitude got fired.
