Citysearch Editorial Review. Sports bars are a dime a dozen, but not many have peanuts and popcorn on hand. The latter comes complimentary in ballpark-style bags at Ventnor, a locally owned restaurant and bar in the heart of Adams Morgan. While Ventnor meets the basic requirement of a place to watch the game--that no spot in the house is more than 10 feet from a TV screen--its shrine-like collection of memorabilia, which blanket every wall and table, give it a personable feel uncommon at chains. There are two stories, each with a bar and tables for small or large parties. The food is good and there's almost always an enticing special to round off the cheap pitchers of beer--sometimes there are even specials for major speeches and other political events. That is Washington's sport, after all.
