Citysearch Editorial Review. Cafe Green, part of the Dupont restaurant strip on 17th Street, is an all-around eco-conscious cafe. The full-service, sit-down restaurant serves organic, vegan fare, much of which is also either gluten free, soy free, nut free or raw (uncooked and unprocessed). Vivid yellow and lime green walls in the brightly painted downstairs dining room underscore the focus on fresh, leafy foods. Menu items range from the fresh finds one would expect at a vegan cafe (such as the mango kale salad, coconut noodles and root vegetable chili) to surprisingly home-style comfort foods such as mac and cheese, oven-baked corn bread and even pizza (though of the raw variety).
