Citysearch Editorial Review.
Intimate, urban, and unique, Ethiopic is a perfect fit for the gritty, diverse Atlas District. A well-kept secret among regulars, the restaurant never overflows with patrons, but there’s enough people to make it lively. With its leather-bound menus, minimalistic African decor, and sunlight streaming through the windows, Ethiopic is more upscale than most of the Ethiopian cuisine found on U Street. As always, honey wine is a featured drink, and patrons can’t go wrong with picking one of the many sampler dinner platters offered. Choose between vegetarian, vegetarian with fish, or the beef and chicken combo. Servers are friendly and attentive, understanding that a smile and a thank you go a long way.
