Citysearch Editorial Review. A boutique Kimpton-owned hotel, the uber-chic Topaz is located between Dupont and Farragut North but manages to maintain a relaxing, inconspicuous profile far-removed from busy city life. The ultra modern decor characteristically borders kitsch and luxury; bright blue walls and chairs pop against leopard-print carpets and zebra-striped settees in the Topaz Bar--an Asian-fusion lounge and restaurant--while guest rooms feature loud prints and bright colors in high-style combinations. Guest rooms also come stocked with exotic teas and pots in which to brew them as well as eye masks, bath products and terry cloth animal print robes so plush they're hard to take off--unless it's for one of the many in-room spa services.
